What We Do
We provide the "on the job training" to parents to to help them understand what their children need at school, and learn how to ask for it. Through informative workshops, one-on-one consultations, support group and community resource listings, we can provide the support level you need.
We are here for you. For as little or as much as you need, for however long you need it.
Advocacy
- Teaching appropriate advocacy procedures to cultivate positive relationships with school staff.
- Understand what the IPRC and IEP are, and how to incorporate your child's needs.
- Learn how to keep effective records, write a needs statement, and track your child's progress.
Learn How To
- Find and utilize board of education or ministry of education documents to help you understand what
you and your child's rights are .
- Understand the document you may already have from your school, psychologist or doctor. See how
they relate to your child's programming needs..
- Help to decide on the most appropriate direction for your advocacy efforts.
Funding
Funding may be available for those that qualify. First initial consultation is free. A flat per hour charge applies with a per km fee for travel beyond 5km of Newmarket Ontario.

Lesley Trentadue brings twelve years of education advocacy, experience and understanding to her practice. As mother of two, one with ADHD, multiple behavior and learning challenges,
she has seen and felt first hand, what parents of special needs children face both at their child’s school and personally, every day.
She decided to be the type of advocate she was looking for. With genuine support, caring and practical knowledge, Lesley will show you how to do the same.
Lesley received her Certified Parent Consultant in Education Advocacy certificate, with the Ontario Association of Education Advocates, in February of 2007.
In 1999 Lesley graduated with honors with from Conestoga Colleges’ Personal Support Worker program. She spent several years, supporting adults and children with developmental and neurological disabilities in their homes.
In 2004, she started the Maple ADHD Family Support Group, which grew to service,
network and support over sixty families before moving it to Newmarket. Lesley sits on various parent volunteer committees, including serving as chair of the Association Of Parent Support Groups’ annual conference.
